Child and Family Model Call for 2025 Christmas sets

Christmas...already? It's only Spring, why would I even be thinking of Christmas pictures at this time of year? Well, since I am an Ambassador for a backdrop company and they are getting ready to launch their new holiday line in a few months, we have to start photographing these gorgeous sets early! So...this is an excellent way for you to get some beautiful Christmas pictures done early and at a super discounted price. These will be done at my Montgomery, Tx studio (in the Magnolia area) meeting during the week (Monday-Friday) at a time that is convenient for you and your family.

I am needing 2-3 families to photograph for a couple "family" setups and then I will need a few child models (between the ages of 4-9) for some different holiday setups that I will be photographing over the next couple months. Child models must be cooperative and take instruction well so if your little one is camera shy I don't recommend applying to be a model until they are a little older.

**Modeling sessions are $175+tax and will be due on session day.**

20-30 min studio session

2 different Christmas backdrops/sets

3 digital images (w/ option to purchase more)

Child gowns to use during the session (depending on size needed)

Capturing the Magic of Texas Bluebonnets

Springtime in Texas brings a breathtaking sight—rolling fields of vibrant bluebonnets blanketing the landscape. These stunning wildflowers create the perfect backdrop for photography sessions, making them a highly sought-after setting for capturing unforgettable memories. Whether you're looking for timeless family portraits, children's milestone sessions, or senior portraits, bluebonnet fields offer a dreamy, picturesque environment that beautifully enhances any photo. The contrast of rich blue hues against golden sunlight creates a warm and inviting atmosphere, making for naturally stunning photographs. Children love exploring the flowers, making for fun and genuine expressions that turn into cherished memories.

Here is a little bit of info regarding my bluebonnet sessions:

*When is bluebonnet season?

Anytime between early March to mid April is usually the time when these sessions are done. Bloom time is different every year and never guaranteed.

*Where are they done?

There are many different bluebonnet locations all across Texas, many are right here in the Houston and surrounding areas but those are usually well known spots which attract hundreds of people each year. My go to spot is typically in the Brenham area so my clients will most likely be traveling when booking a bluebonnet session with me. The fields I have used in the past though are larger and more beautiful than the local fields here in Houston so in my opinion it's worth the drive!!!

*What time of day are sessions done?

I do my outdoor sessions 45 min before sunset to ensure the optimal lighting for your session. Many photographers do them earlier but with my experience the lighting is not flattering when the sun is higher in the sky so I try to avoid that harsh light look. If the weather gives us an overcast day, then we will most likely be meeting much earlier than sunset.

*What days of the week are they done?

With my past experience, weekends are honestly a nightmare when it comes to bluebonnet sessions. People are everywhere which makes finding a bluebonnet patch that is not already occupied very hard! So...I usually hold sessions on weekdays only for this very reason. I have found that when I meet with a client during the week, there are usually only one or two other families there and sometimes we have the entire field to ourselves! This creates a much more relaxed environment for everyone.

*What is included in my session?

These type of sessions are not "minis" so I consider them Limited edition sessions. Sessions usually are 20-30 min in length, include up to 5 people within your immediate family and include anywhere from 7-10 digital images (depending on the packages I offer for that year). Boutique child dresses are available to use (depending on the size needed) and are included in your session. I like to keep my bluebonnet sessions simple and timeless so I don't use many props for these.

*What is the price for these sessions?

Pricing for bluebonnet sessions will always vary...it depends on the photographer, their quality of work, and what all goes into each and every session. My bluebonnet sessions are fine art. I use top-of-the-line photography equipment and spend hours editing each image to perfection. Typically limited edition sessions begin at $450 but clients often invest between $600-$1000 in digital image upgrades and print products once they see their bluebonnet artwork.

The Challenge of Bluebonnet Sessions

As magical as bluebonnet photography sessions are, they come with a unique challenge—the unpredictable bloom schedule, as well as finding the absolute perfect field to use for your session. Unlike other seasonal sessions that follow a more consistent pattern, bluebonnet season varies each year depending on weather conditions. Bloom times can shift by weeks, and the duration of peak bloom is often short, lasting only a couple of weeks. Securing a decent field is also a big challenge since the flowers don't always bloom in the same spot as the year before, many fields are on private property, and many of the public fields become quickly overpopulated and run down by people who often stomp all over the precious flowers. Because of these challenges and unpredictability, scheduling these sessions can be very tricky and I usually only take on a handful of clients per season. Once I hear that the flowers are beginning to bloom, I go location scouting to find the perfect field. Most of the time I have to travel to the Brenham area for my bluebonnets so this is typically where my client sessions will be. Once I find that perfect spot, then I make an announcement on social media and start booking clients. Bookings are done by first come first served so I will announce and release the sessions and clients can book their spot.

Why Bluebonnet Sessions Book Quickly

Given their fleeting nature and immense popularity, bluebonnet photography sessions are in high demand. Many families look forward to these sessions all year, and because I can only take on a few clients, bookings are extremely limited. If you're hoping to secure a spot for a bluebonnet session, it's essential to plan ahead. Here are some helpful tips on increasing your chances to secure a spot:

1. Be sure you follow me on social media and keep an eye out on my bluebonnet posts.

2. Join my VIP client Facebook group! This is important because my VIP group members get priority booking so I will share the bluebonnet booking link in this group first before releasing anywhere else. Plus this is where I announce and release all of my other fun themed mini sessions including the super popular holiday minis that are released throughout the year

3. Get on my Bluebonnet waitlist. In the VIP group I will make an Official Bluebonnet Waitlist post for all of the clients who are interested in obtaining a spot for the upcoming season. Just comment on that post and once I have all of the bluebonnet session details ready, I will tag you to notify you when those sessions release. This is really important as well, because it is so hard for my social media posts to even be seen and most times the info does not even reach many of my clients. The 'tag' at least helps give clients some sort of notification that the sessions have been released.

4. Stay flexible with scheduling . Bluebonnet sessions are usually released within 1-2 weeks of the actual session taking place so it's a very last minute sort of thing. Also once booked, clients will need to be flexible in case we need to reschedule due to weather or a possible location change due to the condition of the flowers.

These sessions are a wonderful way to embrace Texas’ natural beauty while creating lasting memories that will be treasured for years to come. I hope to get the chance to meet with you and create some wonderful memories in the beautiful Texas flowers!

City locations are probably my favorite for photographing families and children. There is something about the lights, buildings and busyness of the city life that is just appealing to me to use as a backdrop for my subjects. And downtown Houston makes the perfect setting for a city type photography session. I love when clients get all dressed up in bold, vibrant colors which compliments the bold, busy city behind them. Christmas Sessions with Sara Hunt Photography!

The holidays are right around the corner, which means it's that time of year to get those holiday pictures done! I am one of those photographers who starts super early for advertising my holiday setups (these typically release in the summer) and also capturing the sessions (holiday sessions begin in September and typically wrap up in early November). I am not one of the typical holiday photographers who takes on hundreds of clients each year either...because I spend hours upon hours editing each image to transform them into magical portraits. Because it takes me so long to edit, I am limited to how many clients I am able to take on. My holiday minis for this year are completely sold out and most have actually already taken place. But this year, after many requests to book private holiday sessions, I have decided to take on a few private studio holiday sessions. These will take place at my studio located in Montgomery, Tx (close to Magnolia off of 1488 & 149) on weekdays only (weekends are not an option for these). Times will vary depending on the day but evening times will be available as well if needed.

Clients can choose two of these Christmas setups pictured here and these can include child and family poses (immediate family members only). **Please note that Santa will NOT be available for a private session though as I only have him booked for my client mini session dates** Child dresses are available to use at no additional charge depending on the size needed.

Reminder these are not "minis", these will be full sessions and my normal rates will apply. The session fee ($300+tax) is due upon booking along with a signed contract and secures your date on my calendar. It is non-refundable and does NOT include any digital images or products. It is in addition to the product/digital collection fees. I offer a Digital Collection option or you can choose to order individual products a la carte. I am bringing back my popular outdoor holiday sessions again this year! This location is bursting with holiday decor and city charm and is one of my favorite places to photograph during the holidays. These sessions are done very late in the season (late November, early December) since we have to wait for the holiday decor to be up so this is one reason why I don't offer a lot of client sessions here. This means a super quick turnaround is needed for these so I have limited time to get the images edited and out to clients before the holiday rush. So although I would love to offer tons of spots for these, it's just not possible with that time crunch. These will be FULL sessions (offered at a discounted rate compared to what I would normally charge for this themed location). Sessions will be around 45min long and include up to 5 people in your immediate family. Formal attire is strongly recommended to go with the fancy holiday city decor. Santa is coming to town!

I can't believe it's almost time for Santa sessions! This year will offer BIG changes! I have FOUR different holiday setups to choose from that will include both Santa and individual child poses. Two setups will be available per day. Dates for these are on October 21 and October 28th at my new studio in Montgomery, Tx. The holidays are just around the corner and I am loving the new "cookie" setup for this year! Every year I try to offer the baking/cookie setups for my clients since they are a client fav...so this year I switched to the darker type setup and I love how it turned out. The sea is calling me! Every summer we try to make a trip to Florida to enjoy the gorgeous turquoise waters and the powdery, white sands! I love visiting the Destin/ Fort Walton area...the beaches are just breathtaking and so relaxing. Even though technically it's a vacay for me and my family, I always try to sneak in a little photo shoot with my kids and even meet up for client sessions if time allows! Baby Milestone sessions are a favorite of mine since we get to capture such an adorable stage in a baby's life. Mermaid Sessions with Sara Hunt Photography

I am super excited to do these gorgeous mermaid sessions this summer! I have some gorgeous mermaid tails and tops for your princess to wear during her session as well as a few headpieces to choose from too :) These will be held meeting in Galveston Beach 45min before sunset to ensure we capture the most gorgeous sunsets and perfect lighting. We will do poses on the beach, by the rocks (depending on how the tide is the day of your session) and IN the water so plan for your mermaid to get WET!! Here are some examples of the mermaid attire I have available so please let me know soon if you plan to use anything of mine.

Both of these tails are a size 8 tail but can fit ages 7-9 depending on the size of the child. We can also clamp it in the back if needed. Purple jeweled mermaid top is also available to use and fits most sizes.

I am super excited to share that I will be visiting FRANCE this summer for an intensive 1.5 day Fine Art Maternity and Child Workshop!! Here is some info on this epic workshop event:

Location: Studio is in Bassin d'Arcachon (15 min from Le Teich and 45 min from Bordeaux)

Date: July 20th - 21st , 2020

We will cover the fundamentals of photography including camera settings, lighting (both studio & outdoor), styling, posing, child interaction, marketing and editing.

Tentative schedule:

Day 1:

9am- Meet & greet and introduction

9:30-10:30- Camera, lens, lighting & styling discussion

11:00-12:30pm- Child posing demonstration & shoot with studio light

If you are looking for a fun, colorful setting then the carnival is the place to be! We would meet at Galveston Pleasure Pier or downtown Houston at the Aquarium. Pleasure pier sessions are only done during the summer months when the pier is open on weekdays. Carnival sessions require an additional creative fee of $200 which will be due the day of your session.

Beach

My Fine Art Beach sessions are done in Galveston, Texas meeting 30 min prior to sunset. These require an additional creative fee of $200 which will be due the day of your session.

The City

If you want an urban type feel then the city is for you. We will meet at sunset in Downtown Houston for some amazing city shots.

Sara Hunt Photography Outdoor Studio

Just steps from Sara's Montgomery studio is a beautiful little area with lots of trees, rustic wooden fence and gorgeous golden light making a perfect spot for capturing photos. The colors in the fall are breathtaking! This location is perfect during the spring, summer and fall months when the leaves are still on the trees.

Rustic Cabin

Wanting a fall, rustic type setting? This park is located in Pasadena and is filled with lots of rustic charm, nature and even fall leaves. There is a small entrance fee to the park and is only available for shooting mid November - January.

Montgomery Gardens

Beautiful park in Historic Montgomery filled with nature, bridges, rose bushes (seasonal) and a small waterfall.

Oyster Creek Park

Located in Sugar Land, this park has a lot to offer...bridges, trees, fountains, manmade creek. It's so gorgeous and perfect for any type of session.

Mercer Botanical Gardens

Located in Humble, Tx this is another great option offering stone archways, white columns, trees, flowers (in the spring) and nature.

Woodlands Forest

Filled with gorgeous tall trees and stunning golden light, perfect for fall or spring sessions.

Cute little park filled with trees, bridges and a small waterfall

Kingwood Bridge

Unique rustic bridge located in Kingwood, Tx.

The Creek

Stunning nature location with a shallow creek perfect for summer sessions! Located in New Caney, Tx. There is a location fee of $250 and also a small entrance fee into the park. This location is closed on Tuesdays and also may not be available for shooting depending on the water level of the creek at the time of the session.

The Silos

Located in Katy, Tx this location is great if you're wanting a rustic, country type feel

The Farm in Angleton

Gorgeous property in Angleton, Tx that offers a stunning glass house, tree swings, front porch and even a couple horses may make an appearance in the background during your session. Travel fee of $200.

Outdoor Christmas

There are some amazing outdoor locations around Houston that offer a unique, Christmasy vibe. Most of these are done once the holiday decor is up so these are done mid to late November and require a fast turnaround so the images are delivered in time for the holidays.

The Woodlands

Sessions are done mid-late November and require a $200 artistic fee. Final images will be delivered early December.

Galveston

These are held in the early mornings only (meeting around 8am) and can be done anytime of the year since the "holiday look" is added in editing. These require an additional creative fee of $300 which will be due the day of your session.

Fun in the City

Houston area photographer, Sara Hunt, recently co-hosted a fine art photography workshop in New Jersey with fellow photographer Deborah Koch of Deborah Koch Photography. The two photographers joined forces to offer an extensive 2 day workshop focusing on Newborn, Child, Maternity and Family photography. During their Making Magic Workshop, Deborah and Sara discussed the fundamentals of photography and how to create extraordinary and magical images. The first day began in the studio with two adorable newborn babies who were perfect little models while Sara covered studio lighting and newborn wrapping and posing. Deborah and Sara also demonstrated Fine Art Studio and Outdoor Child, Maternity and Mommy and Me posing with some incredible child models and a gorgeous expecting mother. The Making Magic Workshop concluded with a business and marketing discussion and several hours of real time editing where students could watch the instructors edit their images from start to finish.

Sara & Deborah were so lucky and beyond grateful to have the ever so talented Colleen Niciejewski of CAM Photography host the workshop in her incredible studio, as well as, have sponsorships from Luneberry, Little Dreamers Tutus, Summerana, & Katharina Hakaj Couture who provided child couture dresses, elegant maternity gowns, and discount vouchers to newborn props, couture dresses & digital overlays/textures.

The trip would not be complete without sight seeing and a little shooting in the streets of New York City!!

Hello to all of my beach lovers!! Photographing on the beach is one of my favorite locations! It is such a calming and breathtaking environment to be able to capture my subjects while they interact with their families. Children come to life when they see the ocean and get to dig their toes in the warm sand! My beach sessions are either done right at sunrise or 30 prior to sunset to ensure the perfect lighting for each session. Editing for my beach sessions is extremely time consuming as I hand edit every single image to bring life and magic to my clients images, and the end result is completely worth it!

When Grace reached out to me to do her family photos I was super excited and honored that she would choose me to capture these for her. Are you ready to take your photography skills to the next level? Join Deborah Koch Photography and Sara Hunt Photography for this ultimate collaborative event. This two day, group workshop will focus on newborn studio posing as well as creating dreamy, fine art child and maternity portraiture.

Day 1:

We will work with 2-3 newborn models throughout the morning. We will cover all essential components for newborn photography such as posing (beanbag & prop workflow), wrapping techniques, camera settings and studio lighting, family/sibling posing with baby, and editing. In the afternoon we will then switch gears and begin discussing the beauty of child portraiture. We will cover styling, posing, child interaction, camera settings, locations and finding the light, achieving tack sharp images, creating dramatic and dreamy imagery while using custom hand editing. Just before sunset, we will then head outdoors to a magical stylized shoot where we will get to photograph several models in gorgeous golden hour light!

Day 2:

We will spend the morning diving into the editing process where you will learn all about hand editing as well as have the opportunity to watch live edits performed by Deborah and Sara. We will break for lunch and end the afternoon with an in-studio sitter session, an introduction to maternity posing and short discussion on business and marketing techniques. We are also planning a bonus (optional) Maternity Shootout in Downtown Houston for that evening if you wish to join in on the fun!

Lunch, snacks and beverages will be provided on each day.

*You must bring your own DSLR camera and be comfortable with shooting in manual mode

*You will need to be comfortable with working in Photoshop and familiar with layers and masks

Texas Bluebonnets | Houston Child Photographer

Bluebonnet season is almost here yall!! I absolutely love to photograph my kiddos in the flowers but each year it seems to be harder and harder to do so. Finding the perfect location that is available to use is part of the problem. My go-to spots that I’ve used in the past are either no longer open for public use, or the flowers just simply aren’t growing there anymore. It’s also so hard to judge just when the flowers will be ready as well…they bloom differently each year. Most of the time they make their appearance in mid March but other times they have waited until late March, early April before the arrive. And sometimes they don’t grow back at all, depending on the location. Once I hear the flowers begin their bloom I go scout locations to find the perfect spot.

Over the past few years I have offered Bluebonnet mini sessions which have always been a client favorite, but this year I have decided to change it up. Instead I am offering Fine Art Bluebonnet sessions which will be a FULL session with me (30 min sunset session) located in Brenham, Texas and includes up to 5 people within your immediate family. There are two collections to choose from (priced at discounted rates compared to my normal fees), each including digital files and a fine art product. You will choose your collection of choice and then that amount is due two weeks after your session at an in-person ordering appointment at my studio in Pearland where you will view your gallery of images and choose your favorites (and have the opportunity to order more digitals/products if so desired). These are limited edition newborn mini sessions (not typically offered) at a discounted rate and are done in-studio meeting 7-14 days after your little one arrives! The newborn mini will include a one hour session, all wrapped poses, and 5 digital images. The mini will not include family, sibling or fine art poses (but can be added on to your session for an additional fee). The price is $450+tax total ($200 is due upon booking and the rest $288 is due the day of your session). Limited spots available. Session must be completed by August 2019.

To claim this offer you must book a Newborn session. Maternity session will be done in-studio only between 28-32 weeks gestation. The beach has always been my happy place! I love everything about it…the sand, the water, the incredible sunsets…and yes, even though we don’t have white sands or turquoise waters like Florida, Galveston is in fact incredibly beautiful, especially when you get an epic sunset like what is seen in the images below. I’ve had many requests over the years to do Beach minis so I finally decided to do just that! I plan to offer 2 days of these which will be held on October 21st and 22nd. This will be the very last opportunity to get a family/child session with me for the year since I am fully booked. Time slots will be right at sunset. Cotton Fields are my absolute favorite…I think I love them more than bluebonnets! There is something so beautiful about them! I was lucky enough to meet a cotton farmer who has allowed me to come out the past two years and take pics of my kiddos so when he contacted me this year and said a couple fields were ready I was beyond excited to go. My little one is about 1.5 years now and you just never know how she will act for pictures. But to my surprise she was a perfect little doll and posed long enough for me to snap these unforgettable shots! I seriously want to hang each and every image of her in my home. I snapped a couple of Miss Avery too in her new big blue puffy dress right at sundown and can’t get enough of those as well! Cotton just has my heart, I love it so!

I absolutely LOVED getting to capture my sweet baby girl every month of her first year! Documenting her growth and how quickly she has changed over the year was just awesome. The Force is strong with this young Jedi! Every year when it gets close to my son’s birthday we do some fun pictures that usually go along with the theme of his birthday party. These days, he is obsessed with Star Wars so it was really fun to do these for him. He had so much fun taking these pictures and when he saw the end result, his little face lit up with excitement! He LOVED them…and so do I! Creating fine art images like these are my favorite so I am super happy with how they turned out. This may in fact be the last year we will do party themed pictures for him so it saddens my heart a little knowing that my little boy is not so little anymore. Let me just start by saying it was fate that brought me to this truck…I had been looking forever (like months and months) for a truck just like this to create this stylized Texas A&M tailgating photography session for this special family. This location is on private property which I have received permission to use (the owner actually was very thankful I even asked to shoot there because she said people just show up to take pics on her property and don’t even bother with asking…which by the way is ILLEGAL!!!!) Miss Zoey came to see me for her milestone sitter session. The sitter session is done around 6-8 months of age once baby is able to sit up on their own. We didn’t get to meet for her sitter session until she was 10 months so while she was here her mommy wanted a pose with her birthday outfit to use for her party invitations so I’m glad we were able to capture this for her. She was such a cutie and I just loved her wild hair!

So this is Miss Kinley…I have photographed her since she was a newborn and I just can’t believe she is already turning ONE! She is the most happiest baby ever and she gave me all sorts of cheesy and adorable faces during her Birthday Session.

Miss Chloe is one of my First Year Collection babies. I photographed her as a newborn and she came to see me recently for her “sitter” session at 6 months. I love this age because they are usually super smiley and not so mobile, making it easy to capture this special milestone. Well, Miss Chloe was not in the mood for pictures this day…I couldn’t get any smiles from her and most of the time she had pouty faces and tears, BUT that doesn’t even matter because she is still SUPER adorable. Can’t wait to meet up with her for her cake smash in a couple months!

Well…this year was the first year for me to do bluebonnet minis and I was so excited to offer these. Little did I know that it would be such a stressful event! These flowers are so unpredictable…you just never know when they will bloom and WHERE they will bloom! I struggled with finding a good location around Houston that wasn’t overly used by other photographers. And with all of the rain we have received this year it was just a never ending battle with trying to make these sessions happen. BUT we made it work and I am happy with the results. Sometimes you just have to pack up the kids & drive 3 1/2 hours for that WOW location…for that unforgettable shot…for that, possibly, once in a lifetime opportunity. It was so incredibly worth it once we arrived to this SEA of BLUE…bluebonnets as far as the eye could see. The smell alone was breathtaking! This place was a photographers dream…our heaven on earth! I had several different visions in mind to capture my children in this massive field of blue and overall I am very happy with the end result. I hope to offer a few limited edition Fine Art sessions at this very location next year as long as the flowers return so please “like” my facebook page to keep updated…you don’t want to miss out on these!

Texas Bluebonnet Mini Sessions {Pearland Houston Brenham TX Child Family Bluebonnet Photographer}

The bluebonnets are starting to make their appearance across Texas so I am excited to finally offer these amazing mini sessions! These sessions can include family poses or child poses with up to 5 people. I will have a few props that you can use including a custom tent for boys & a beautiful ivory teepee for girls or these can be simple poses within these beautiful flowers. I plan to offer a few early morning times (8-9am) on both Saturday & Sunday (April 11 & 12th) and some evening times (5-7pm) on that Saturday. If the weather does not cooperate these will be rescheduled for April 25-26th so please keep this in mind upon booking and plan to be available both weekends just in case. The $50 booking fee is non-refundable (only will be refunded if these sessions get rained out both weekends & are cancelled all together) and is due upon booking. You will be sent a Paypal invoice for this fee which must be paid within 1 day to hold your spot. The remaining session fee of $200+tax will be due that day (cash or check only).The location is to be announced…I will be scouting various locations to find the perfect place. If I find an amazing location around Houston we will definitely use it but please know that most likely we will meet in Brenham, Texas as they have the best spots with natural backgrounds. Here is a sneak peek of Mr. “E” and his adorable tent session in a field of beautiful bluebonnets! We ventured out to Brenham in hopes of finding the perfect field of bluebonnets. I seriously came home from this late afternoon shoot with Mr. “E” thinking that I maybe got one decent image…he was so energetic and moving all over the place (being a typical 3 year old) that at the time I was NOT confident. But as I started going through the images to begin the tedious editing process, I realized that I was completely wrong. This actually turned out to be one of my most favorite, memorable shoots!

The very next weekend a kissing booth was created followed by another mini Valentine session…this time it included Mr. “E” and his new Valentine, the lady in Red! It took about an hour for these two to finally warm up to each other…and our loveable bachelor even sneaked in a little kiss!

This is little Mr. “Clark Kent”!! He made the perfect super man. The Super “E” cape was made by his Aunt and given to him on his first birthday so what better time to capture images with the cape than Halloween? Mr. Kent took awhile to warm up to the camera, but once he did he really gave me some great expressions that showcase his personality!
